Getty Images for MTVTaylor Swift scores another No. 1 Billboard hit this week as the singer’s „Cruel Summer“ rises to the top of the Adult Pop Airplay chart. In doing so, she makes history on the radio tally and passes one of the most successful names in the tally’s decades-long run.
Passing pop singer Pink, Swift now holds the record for the most No. 1 singles among solo musicians in the history of the Adult Pop Airplay chart. „Cruel Summer“ becomes Swift’s eleventh leader on the tally, one more than her closest competitor.
Pink remains steady with her 10 champions, which is now enough to put her in third place for the most No. 1s. Among all acts, Swift trails only Maroon 5, as the pop band has managed 15 No. 1s throughout their tenure.

„Cruel Summer“ advances to the top spot on the Adult Pop Airplay chart from No. 4, which is a noticeable jump on the list, where many tunes can climb slowly. Swift replaces country singer Luke Combs at the summit. His single „Fast Car“ ruled until this frame.
Swift is racking up No. 1 hits in quick fashion. Less than a year ago, she only had eight champions on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. At the time, she was tied with Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran. Now, she has not only surpassed them, but she’s also continued her winning streak.
The pop and country singer first hit the tally in 2013, just a decade ago. Her initial No. 1 was “I Knew You Were Trouble,” which ruled the list for one frame. Since then, she’s accumulated an average of about one leader per year, with stretches where she doesn’t send anything to the top and more productive periods as well.
